Dr. Rahmeh Alawdan, a British Palestinian, had praised the terrorist organization Hamas and denied the Holocaust.

The UK’s General Medical Council suspended the registration of British Palestinian Dr. Rahmeh Aladwan, based in London, over posts online that included expressions of support for Hamas, the Times of Israel reported. The 31-year-old, described by The Guardian as a “British Palestinian trainee in trauma and orthopedics” had taken to X to say Israelis were “worse than Nazis,” and that Hamas terrorists were “oppressed resistance fighters, not terrorists.”
According to the Times of Israel, she also publicly vowed she “would never” condemn the terror group’s October 7th massacre and posted a photo of jewelry reading “O 7,” calling it “celebratory.”
According to the Guardian, the General Medical Counsel Emma Gilsenan told the MPTS hearing that Aladwan’s posts included content that “justifies terrorism, denies sexual violence, includes antisemitic conspiracy theories, misuses Holocaust and Nazi imagery and expresses support for proscribed groups and terrorist acts”.
She added that Aladwan had referred to the Royal Free hospital in London as a “Jewish supremacy cesspit”, doxed NHS colleagues for raising concerns about her, and expressed explicit support for proscribed organizations such as Hamas and Palestine Action, the Guardian reported. According to the report, Gilsenan submitted that it was “unconscionable to consider that Dr Aladwan should be permitted to continue to practice”.
In response to the suspension, Aladwan posts a verse from the Quran: “But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.” Along with the quotation, she writes: “Let this decision stand as the definitive proof that there is no independent British medical regulation. The ‘israeli’ and Jewish lobby decide who can and cannot practice (sic) medicine in Britain.” She says her “gratitude to every single person who has supported our just cause is boundless,” adding: “What an honor it is to sacrifice for our people. Free Palestine and Britain from Jewish supremacy,” her post concludes, with emojis of the Palestinian and UK flags.
In addition to her public X posts, tribunal members also heard that Aladwan described the Holocaust as a “fabricated victim narrative,” and made a throat-slitting gesture at protesters, according to The Telegraph.
In September, the MPTS ruled that it would not impose interim conditions on Aladwan’s registration, saying it did not believe the complaints against her were “sufficient to establish that there may be a real risk to patients”, the Guardian reported. However, the Guardian reported that the tribunal’s chair, Lee Davies, found last Wednesday that her aconduct “may impact on patient confidence in both her and the profession and patients may be discouraged from seeking treatment from her”.
According to the Guardian, he said there had been “additional information” made available since September that “may indicate an escalation in the tone and nature of Dr Aladwan’s activities and posts, which may be considered to be extreme, offensive and antisemitic”. Davies said: “The tribunal considers that the allegations, if found proved, are serious and appear to have arisen from persistent and prolonged posting of potentially egregious material which has been widely disseminated by Dr Aladwan, resulting in a number of individual complaints made to the GMC.”
He continued: “While the tribunal is mindful of Dr Aladwan’s freedom of expression rights, it has noted a number of comments which allegedly support and celebrate terrorist acts and organisations, and promote violent action and offensive Jewish tropes.” He added that “many complaints” had been received “from individual members of the public and various organizations”. The Guardian reported that the interim suspension of 15 months on Aladwan, 31, took effect from Wednesday and will be reviewed within six months.
