We are sorry to shock you by switching from beauty and peace to the reality that is Jerusalem today…and that is that terror can strike anywhere…anytime.

Our intent was not to offend you, but to ask for your help.

We are DEFEND JERUSALEM, a group of concerned citizens of the Holy City, a place that three different world religions claim as their part of their heritage.

The question is simply this: “Why can’t we live together in peace, in this, the City of Peace?”

Sadly, every day we in Jerusalem are under assault by radical terrorists who seek to cause us harm. NO, who seek to DESTROY us!

The fact is that:

• Jerusalem IS home to hundreds of thousands of Jewish people as it has been for millennia
• It is also home to hundreds of thousands of Arab Jewish citizens who are a vital part of our city.
• AND in normal ‘non-COVID’ times, our beautiful city is proud to welcome millions of tourists from every corner of the world.

We at DEFEND JERUSALEM believe we CAN live together in peace. In fact, not only CAN we live together, but we MUST do so if our city is to survive as it is.

But there ARE forces here in Jerusalem, that every day are intent on producing FEAR in our communities.

There are those whose only intent is to destroy our community and destroy all of the historical evidence of the past so that they can validate their false claims.

1. They destroy archaeological artifacts in the Old City, remnants of Solomon’s Temple on Temple Mount, hoping to erase any historical connections between the Jews and Jerusalem.
2. They flagrantly seize and encroach on Jewish and Christian holy sites and seek to establish their own facts on the ground.
3. They carry out political acts in an attempt to assert Palestinian sovereignty inside Jerusalem in violation of the law.
4. They utilize their secret police to intimidate, kidnap, torture, and even murder those suspected of selling property in Jerusalem to Jews.

Just about every day, there is another attack by terrorists, and most of them are never reported in western media. The aim of the terrorists is very simple: they want to produce TERROR! They want the residents of the Holy City to fear for their lives! But Jerusalemites are TOUGH, and we all know how blessed we are to be part of this special place.

But sadly, these constant acts do exact a toll, particularly on the elderly and on the children, and without some effective response, they could be a deadly threat to the future of Israel’s capital.

“I have set guardians upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, they shall never hold their peace day nor night” (Isaiah 62:6).

In fact, today, I’m asking YOU to consider becoming one of those guardians!

If you love the Holy City and the Jewish people, I am praying that you will join us in taking a stand NOW while there is still time. I’m praying that you will join the hundreds of thousands of peace loving citizens here, Jew and Arab alike, who want to keep Jerusalem a safe and wonderful place.
