BARRING JIHAD AL-FAQIH FROM ENTERING THE STATE OF ISRAEL AND RENDERING HIM PERSONA NON GRATA

DEFEND JERUSALEM has demanded that Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked use the powers of her good office to officially render Jihad al-Faqih, a senior Fatah terrorist commander, persona non grata and to permanently bar him from ever entering the State of Israel.

Jihad al-Faqih is a resident of the small village of Qatanna inside the Palestinian Authority adjacent to Mt. Adar. He is a senior member of the PA’s Security Apparatus with the rank of a brigadier-general, and the General Intelligence chief for the Jerusalem area. His command’s primary mission is to undermine, compromise, and endanger the security of the Israeli capital city and its surrounding areas. One of al-Faqih’s primary missions inside Israeli territory—and especially inside the confines of Jerusalem—is to advance the political and terrorist agenda of the Palestinian Authority and Fatah. He coordinates and conspires with Palestinian field commanders who are active players in the covert campaign to kill Israelis and subvert law and order inside Jerusalem.

One of the most insidious aspects of Faqih’s nefarious mission against Israel is overseeing the vicious campaign of punishment administered to Palestinians in Jerusalem who sell land to Israelis and Jews; individuals and their families are threatened, their properties torched, and those suspected of real estate transactions to Jews have been beaten, tortured, maimed, and murdered. Al-Faqih’s network of operatives has played an instrumental role in the Palestinian incitement toward bloodshed that resulted in the lethal violence of May 2021 in the Old City and the precincts of Jerusalem.

Jihad al-Faqih is a threat to the State of Israel. He must be permanently barred from setting foot inside the Jewish state.
