DEFEND JERUSALEM has requested that Ayelet Shaked, the Interior Minister, use the powers of her office, under Section 11A of the 1952 Entry into Israel Law of 1952, to immediately revoke the permanent residency permit of Samir Jibril. For the past twelve years, Samir Jibril has served as the head of the Palestinian Authority’s Education Bureau in Jerusalem, serving under the auspices of the PA’s “Governor of Jerusalem.” Although he works for a hostile foreign non-state “government” entity, Jibril has abused his Israeli identity card and permanent residency status, to advance nefarious ambitions against the safety of Jerusalem and its citizens and, in essence, the national security of the State of Israel.
Jibril, in his senior role in the PA’s Education Bureau, has worked to destabilize the current education status quo that exists for children inside the Israeli capital. He has aggressively campaigned against efforts by some Arab schools in East Jerusalem to switch to an Israeli Ministry of Education curriculum, thereby better preparing the students for their Israeli and Palestinian Authority matriculation exams. Jibril’s efforts never had the best interests of the Arab schoolchildren as a priority. He serves the Palestinian Authority and Fatah in their campaigns against the State of Israel.
Samir Jibril’s efforts to influence the curriculum of the Arab (East Jerusalem) schoolchildren to one of incitement against Jews is in direct violation of diplomatic accords that the Palestinian Authority signed with the State of Israel in 1994. Samir Jibril’s long list of hostile and often illegal activities are not isolated incidents. Rather, they constitute a relentless campaign to brainwash the Arab youth of East Jerusalem with incitement and an antisemitic curriculum.
Samir Jibril uses his Israeli identification card and his permanent residency status as a shield to brazenly and continuously undermine the well-being of Jerusalem’s Arab children. These actions constitute an utter breach of trust with the provisions of Israeli law have warranted the urgent need to revoke Samir Jibril’s permanent residency status.
