THE REVOCATION OF ADNAN AL-GHEITH’S PERMANENT RESIDENCY PERMIT AND PERMISSION TO ENTER ISRAEL DUE TO HOSTILE ANTI-HOSTILE ACTIVITY AND A BREACH OF TRUST AND VIOLATION OF ISRAELI LAW

DEFEND JERUSALEM has requested that Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked use the broad powers of her office and the full extent of the law—primarily the provisions stated under Section 11A of the 1952 Entry into Israel Law of 1952—to revoke the permanent residency permit of Adnan al-Gheith.

Adnan al-Gheith is a long-serving Fatah operative who served as the “Governor” of Jerusalem for the Palestinian Authority. In these capacities, he has carried out violent actions and terrorist operations against the State of Israel, posing a clear and present danger to national security. His Fatah and Palestinian Authority missions include the undermining of Israeli sovereignty and security inside Jerusalem and the incitement of attacks inside the confines of the Israeli capital that will lead to civilian casualties and the dangerous collapse of law and order. The long-term objectives of these operations are to lay the groundwork for Palestinians (the PA and terrorist groups) to somehow lay claim to the city through terror and bloodshed.

Adnan al-Gheith’s activities are illegal: both under Israeli law and the provisions of the diplomatic agreements reached between the State of Israel and the Palestinian Authority in the context of the 1994 Oslo Accords. Under these agreements, al-Gheith and those in the Palestinian Authority are strictly forbidden from supporting terrorist groups or taking part in any activities that violate Israeli law; even the expression of sympathy with the perpetrators of attacks or hostile actions are forbidden, punishable by imprisonment. Adnan al-Gheith has been arrested and detained by Israeli security forces on numerous occasions; his crimes have received glowing publicity and propaganda in the Palestinian and Arab media.

Al-Gheith’s continued actions constitute a brazen violation of Israeli law. It even constitutes acts of treason under Section 97, 98, and 99 of the Penal Code, 5737-1977.

It is abundantly clear that no measures taken by the Israeli government, no diplomatic, legal, or security effort, will deter Adnan al-Gheith’s nefarious activities against the Jewish state and Jerusalem. Therefore,  it is imperative that

enforce the laws of entry and residency and revoke all permissions for al-Husseini to enter and operate inside the confines of the country.
