Arutz Sheva reported that a terrorist from the Jenin area plowed into a bus stop at the Karkur Junction in Pardes Hanna in Central Israel. According to the report, 14 people were wounded in the terror attack. A 17-year-old girl is in critical condition with head and limb injuries, while two people, aged 19 and 60, were seriously wounded, Haaretz reported. The 60-year-old man has head and limb injuries, while the 19-year-old female has head injuries. According to the report, one person was moderately wounded with limb injuries and five were lightly wounded, while another five were treated for shock and anxiety.

Deputy Commissioner Assi Aharoni, head of the Police Spokesperson’s Division, told Israel Hayom that the terrorist “spotted Israelis waiting at a bus stop at Karkur Junction. He swerved his vehicle and ran them over. From there, he fled toward Gan Shmuel and encountered a police patrol car on the way. He rammed into the vehicle, injuring one officer. The officers opened fire at the terrorist and neutralized him.”

Maya, an eyewitness who spoke to Haaretz, said she saw a large black vehicle moving toward the bus stop in the junction and hitting people who were standing in it. “We ran, it was a big mess, he just came straight at all the people at the stop,” she said. According to her, “it was clear he came with intention, and drove as fast as he could, then moved on.”

“There were young men standing on the sidewalk,” Yoni, an eyewitness, explained to Israel Hayom. “There’s a bus stop there. A car came speeding, veered onto the sidewalk, hit them, and fled. It was chaotic and tense. People who were there tried to help the injured until the ambulances arrived.”

MDA medic Orly Keinan told Israel Hayom: “It was a severe scene. When we arrived with large forces, we saw the injured, some of whom were lying on a dirt mound behind the bus stop. They told us they had been hit by a vehicle that veered onto the sidewalk and fled. We provided them with life-saving medical treatment, including stopping bleeding, bandaging, and immobilizing injuries, before evacuating them to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center.”

MDA Senior EMT Moshe Cohen, who arrived in the first ambulance, told Arutz Sheva: “I arrived quickly at the scene and saw chaos. About ten injured people, both young and old, were lying in a ditch on the side of the road. Two of them were unconscious, suffering from head and limb injuries. Large MDA forces arrived rapidly. The vehicle responsible for the attack was stopped further down the road by security forces. We performed an initial triage of the wounded and evacuated them to the hospital.”

Arutz Sheva reported that the terrorist was identified as Jamil Ziyad, from the village of Silat al-Harithiya in northern Samaria, who was in Israel illegally and was married to an Israeli Arab. According to the report, the police stated that he was neutralized after he exited the vehicle with a screwdriver. Haaretz revealed that the terrorist had a prior criminal record. According to an examination by Haaretz, he was indicted in 2021 for driving without a license. Two years later, a plea agreement was approved in his case. He was given a 1,000-shekel ($280) fine and a suspended disqualification from holding a driver’s license.

According to Haaretz, Hamas said in a statement after the terror attack: “The attack sends a message that in the West Bank, within the Green Line and all over the land of Palestine, there are resistance fighters who will not give up their rights, and the resistance will continue until the occupation is finished in all our lands.”
