In a recent MEMRI report, Arab journalists and liberal activists praise Israel and America for the collapse of the Iranian nuclear program.

According to a recent report published by MEMRI, “The June 22, 2025 U.S. strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities was met with approval and satisfaction by many Arab journalists and liberals, who took to X to express their support for it. Some thanked U.S. President Donald Trump, saying he had “made history” and “saved humanity” from the nuclear threat posed by the Iranian regime. Others expressed hope for the downfall of this regime, and several mocked Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, calling on him to surrender unconditionally or else face a grim fate. It should be mentioned that some of these writers also expressed support for Israel’s attack on Iran, launched on June 13, stating that this country was not defending only itself but the entire Middle East.”
In a series of posts on June 22, Saudi journalist Wafa Al-Rashid implicitly supported the overthrow of the Iranian regime, writing: “Sometimes the fall [of a regime] is not a threat but an opportunity for salvation”; “[Tolerating] the continued existence of some regimes is not political neutrality but a conspiracy against humanity”; “Some regimes are not only a burden on their own people but on all of humanity! They feed on oppression, export chaos, impoverish the world and destroy the people. Their existence is not a ‘sovereign decision’ but a danger to the future of the world.”
Emirati liberal Amjad Taha concurred: “To those still struggling with English or math: the U.S. won. Israel won. The Islamist in Iran lost. The Middle East just took its first breath of fresh, non-radioactive air. Trump didn’t just send missiles, he sent a message. No nukes. No bullies. No threats to America’s allies, especially Israel. This wasn’t just war. This was diplomacy with a spine, a masterclass in keeping promises and crushing bad deals. Fordo was flattened. Natanz was neutralized. Esfahan was erased. These weren’t peace-loving labs. They were ticking bombs. And now, they’re gone with precision.”
He continued: “Trump said it best, and for once, the whole world nodded. ‘Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace. If they do not, future attacks would be far greater and a lot easier.’ And guess what? People from Tel Aviv to Texas, from Erbil to Rome, celebrated with one voice and a few B2 vitamins just for fun. Because when evil plans fall, good people rise. Moral of the story? Never bring uranium to a superpower fight. Always keep B2 handy. Apparently, it’s what victory tastes like. God bless America. God save lives. As for Tehran’s hardliners, someone please bring them chamomile tea, a therapist, and a globe. It’s time they realize the world isn’t flat, and it doesn’t revolve around them. In the end, peace isn’t given. It’s earned, protected, and sometimes enforced. And those who chase destruction always forget.. justice doesn’t knock. It lands.”
Bahraini liberal Ahdeya Ahmed Al-Sayed wrote: “The U.S. has managed to destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities in Fordo. This strike put an end to the efforts of Khamenei’s regime to attain nuclear power. It is a historic turning point that will transform the Middle East, [leading to] a future in which the terror of the ‘rule of the jurisprudent’ [i.e., the Iranian regime] no longer threatens the region. With this step America fulfilled its obligation and put an end to the matter.”
Iraqi journalist Sufian Al-Samarrai, chair of the Iraqi news website Baghdad Post, wrote after the U.S. strike on Iran: “Israel and the U.S. are waiting for retaliation by Iran, its agents in the region and the terror organizations. [Such retaliation] is needed in order to justify the elimination of these terror gangs and so that humanity can live in peace.” Indeed, retaliation did come, when 86 Israelis were wounded in an Iranian missile attack and US air force bases in Qatar were also attacked by Iran. The Iranian leadership has also spoken about how they are prepared for a two-year war. However, Al Samarrai mocked them: “”Nobody [in the Iranian leadership] is left except for Khamenei, and now, if he does not declare his surrender, he will meet the same fate as [the nuclear facilities in] Natanz, Fordo and Isfahan. This is America’s basic demand, and its first requirement is unconditional surrender.”
On Monday, Israel bombed the clock where the Iranians used to count down till the destruction of Israel, the main gate of Evin Prison, where numerous Iranian dissidents who are imprisoned there are tortured, raped, gang raped and denied proper medical care, and the Basij headquarters, which was utilized to oppress the Iranian people. With its extensive areal campaign, Israel essentially has opened the doors for the Iranian people to rebel and demand fresh leadership.
Emirati political analyst Salem Al-Ketbi concluded: “The Israel-Iran war will go down in the annals of history as one of those moments of political folly that repeatedly [characterize] dictatorial regimes which do not understand the discrepancy between their own [capabilities] and the military and technological prowess of Israel… History will not spare those who refuse to develop but persist in a policy of collective suicide… The lesson is clear to all: he who does not learn from the past, [his history] will be written by bombs [that fall] on his soil in the present.”
