Ravid Chaim, a baby who was the child of a pregnant woman murdered in a terror attack a few weeks ago, who was critically injured in the terror attack, has passed away and succumbed to his injuries.

The Samaria Regional Council and the community of Bruchin on Thursday morning announced that Ravid Chaim, the infant born after his mother was shot dead by a terrorist earlier this month, has passed away at the hospital, Arutz Sheva reported. According to the report, Ravid Chaim was named Ravid honoring his mother’s wish, with the additional “Chaim” as a prayer that he would survive despite the prenatal trauma.
Ravid Chaim’s mother, Tze’ela Gez, was murdered by terrorists from Burqin as she made her way with her husband Hananel to the delivery room, Arutz Sheva noted. According to the report, Hananel, who was also injured in the terror attack, pulled over to the side of the road and called for help, while trying to stop Tze’ela’s bleeding and save her life.
In a statement, Schneider Medical Center said: “We regret to report that, during the night, Ravid Chaim, the infant delivered following the attack in Samaria two weeks ago in which his mother, Tzeela Gez, was murdered, has died. Ravid was hospitalized in critical condition in the neonatal intensive care unit. The medical staff fought for his life with dedication throughout, but despite every effort, the hospital had to pronounce his death in the early hours. We extend our deepest condolences to the grieving family.”
Yedioth Achronot reported that Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, responded to the tragic news: “This is a double murder. The world should be outraged. We demand a Zionist response: more construction in memory of Ravid and Tzeela. We will stand with the family always.”
Meital Ben Yosef, chair of the Bruchin settlement, told Yediot Achronot: “The community mourns the loss of Ravid Chaim son of Tzeela, of blessed memory. A baby who was meant to enter the world with joy and anticipation took his last breath this morning, after two weeks of struggling between life and death. A vile terrorist murdered a mother and her child in an attempt to erase and destroy the people of Israel. We will not remain silent. We will double our efforts to memorialize them and respond to this horrific act. We will build, expand, and deepen our presence here. We will make clear to our enemies: we are here in our ancestral homeland—and we are here to stay.”
The Times of Israel reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said there were “no words that can console the murder of a newborn baby together with his mother,” while President Isaac Herzog said the entire nation was “embracing Gez’s husband Hananel and praying for him.”
“My deepest condolences to Hananel Gez and his family on the death of baby Ravid Chaim who was taken from the womb of his mother, Tzeela, who was murdered in a brutal attack near Bruchin about two weeks ago, while she was on her way to the delivery room,” said Herzog in a statement to the press.
