At around 8:30pm on Tuesday evening, the bomb sirens were sounded in Abu Ghosh, Airport City, Beit Shemesh, Beitar Illit, Efrat, Gush Etzion, Hevron, Jerusalem, Kfar Chabad, Kiryat Arba, Kiryat Malakhi, Lod, Modiin, Modiin Illit, Ness Ziona, Ramla, Rishon LeTzion, and other areas throughout the greater Jerusalem area and Central Israel.
After a missile was launched by the Houthis in Yemen, the IDF stated that the missile was intercepted by the IAF and the Arrow interception system, Arutz Sheva reported. According to the report, no casualties have been reported.
Following the missile launch from Yemen — which was successfully intercepted by the Israeli Air Force — Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a stark warning to the Iran-backed Houthis, the Times of Israel reported. “Yemen will be treated like Tehran. After striking the head of the snake in Tehran, we will also strike the Houthis in Yemen,” Katz says, adding, “whoever raises a hand against Israel — that hand will be cut off.”
US Ambassador Mike Huckabee said that US B-2 bomber planes “need to visit Yemen” after the Houthis launched a missile towards Jerusalem on Tuesday, the Jerusalem Post reported. “We thought we were done with missiles coming to Israel, but Houthis just lit one up over us in Israel,” the ambassador wrote on X/Twitter. “Fortunately, Israel’s incredible interception system means we go to the shelter & wait until all clear. Maybe those B2 bombers need to visit Yemen!”
The B-2 bombers were used most recently in the US attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, the Jerusalem Post reported. According to the report, US officials said more than 30 tons of bombs were dropped using the planes. The Jerusalem Post reported that US President Donald Trump called the strikes a “historic military success,” claiming the facilities were “completely obliterated.” There are only 20 B-2 bombers in the US Air Force’s inventory, so they are usually used sparingly, the Jerusalem Post added.
Earlier, Israel has threatened Yemen’s Houthi movement – which has been attacking Israel in what it says is solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip – with a naval and air blockade if its attacks on Israel persist, Reuters reported. Since the start of Israel’s war in Gaza in October 2023, the Houthis, who control most of Yemen, have been firing at Israel and at shipping in the Red Sea, disrupting global trade, Reuters added. According to the report, most of the dozens of missiles and drones they have launched have been intercepted or fallen short. Reuters reported that Israel has carried out a series of retaliatory strikes.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will convene the political-security cabinet in Jerusalem on Saturday evening, Arutz Sheva reported. According to the report, the discussion will deal with talks on the hostage deal and the continued fighting in the Gaza Strip.
