DEFEND JERUSALEM DEMANDS THAT MU’ATASEM TIM, AND HIS ACTIVITIES AGAINST ISRAELI SOVEREIGNTY IN JERUSALEM ON BEHALF OF THE PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY AND FATAH BE STOPPED IMMEDIATELY

DEFEND JERUSALEM has made a formal request to the office of Omer Bar-Lev, a Member of Knesset (MK) and the Minister of Internal Security, that he use the full powers of his office to stop Mu’atasem Tim and the anti-Israeli activities he carries out on behalf of the Palestinian Authority and Fatah targeting the peace and security of Jerusalem.

Mu’atasem Tim is a senior-level operative for the Palestinian Authority and the Fatah terrorist organization. He heads the Jerusalem Unit at the Palestinian Authority’s Office of the President. In that post, he is an integral decision-maker and planner in the PA and Fatah executive committees that plan and executive subversive operations targeting the citizens of Jerusalem.  He oversees Palestinian efforts to undermine Israel’s capital, threaten the safety of its residents, and plant the seeds of Palestinian insurrection against Israeli government institutions that allow the city’s residents—Jews, Muslims, and Christians—to live everyday lives with peaceful futures for the children and families.

The activities undertaken by Mu’atasem Tim present a clear and present danger to the national security of the State of Israel. Tim’s Hafez activities against Israel—and specifically Jerusalem—are crimes in direct violation of Israeli law. The provisions of the 1994 Oslo Peace Accords and the mutually agreed to declarations of the Palestinians, the State of Israel, and third-party international powers strictly forbid the very operations and activities that Tim undertakes against the Jewish state and its capital.

DEFEND JERUSALEM is asking the Ministry of Internal Security and the offices inside its purview must do all that they can to prevent Tim’s activities. Additionally, the Ministry of Internal Security must use its powers to prevent Tim from entering Israeli territory and—especially—the confines of Jerusalem.
