Last Wednesday evening, two terror attacks struck Judea and Samaria within seconds, leaving three Israelis wounded in separate incidents near the Reihan crossing in Samaria and the Sheep Junction in the Hebron Hills, Israel Hayom reported. According to the report, the first attack involved terrorists firing from a passing vehicle at an Israeli car traveling along the security fence near the Reihan crossing, west of Jenin.
Two Israelis were seriously wounded and evacuated to a hospital for treatment. “Both are sedated and on ventilators, suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body,” a spokesperson for Haifa’s Rambam Medical Center told JNS.
Minutes later, a second attack unfolded in the Hebron Hills, Israel Hayom noted. According to the report, a terrorist attempted to ram a vehicle into Israelis at the Sheep Junction, then exited his car wielding a knife. Israel Hayom added that he was shot by security forces and left in critical condition. One Israeli sustained light injuries and was taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel Hayom noted.
Hebron Hills Regional Council head Eliram Azulay said the attack occurred at the Hakvasim Intersection near the community of Beit Hagai, JNS reported. According to the report, Azulay called on the government to implement his previous demand to construct a security perimeter around the villages and main roads in the area.
Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad released respective statements praising the attacks and calling for an escalation of violence in Judea and Samaria, the Jerusalem Post reported. According to the report, neither of the terror groups officially claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Samaria Regional Council Chairman Yossi Dagan told Arutz Sheva after the double terror attacks: “The entire people of Israel and the settlements in Samaria strengthens the IDF soldiers and pray for their success – we give you full support and full trust. We expect and demand from the government to completely turn the tables.”
“We need to crush the terror infrastructure with an iron fist and resolutely strengthen the settlement, and convey a clear message,” he added. “We are here to win. We do not have the privilege of losing this war, which is a zero-sum war, not only for the State of Israel but for the survival of the world as a modern and enlightened world in 2025. The Israeli government must show that we are here to win.”
Palestinian terrorist groups targeted Israeli Jews in Judea and Samaria at least 6,343 times in 2024, including 179 instances of gunfire, according to data published by Hatzalah Judea and Samaria in mid-February, JNS reported. According to the report, twenty-seven Israelis were murdered in Judea and Samaria in 2024, and more than 300 others were wounded, the group said in its annual report.
Jerusalem is aware that a “more intense front” could open in Judea and Samaria amid the expansion of fighting with Hamas terrorists in Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on March 19, JNS reported.
