Eight Israelis were killed and nearly three hundred were injured in an Iranian ballistic missile attack that took place at 4am on Monday morning. The Times of Israel reported that four people were killed in Petah Tivka, three in Haifa, and another person in Bnei Brak. Surveillance footage released Monday reveals the moment an Iranian missile slammed into a residential building in Petah Tikva in the early hours of Monday morning, producing a large, terrifying fireball upon impact, Arutz Sheva reported.
According to a preliminary investigation by the Home Front Command, two of the victims were inside a reinforced security room (mamad) when the missile struck the space between two such rooms in the building, Arutz Sheva reported. According to the report, another person was likely killed while in a unit above the impact site, and the fourth fatality occurred in a neighboring building, apparently due to the powerful blast wave.
JNS reported that a total of 287 wounded individuals arrived at hospitals during the night. As of Monday morning, one person was in serious condition, 13 were in moderate condition, 240 were in mild condition, 11 were suffering from anxiety and 25 patients were under medical evaluation with their condition not yet determined, JNS reported.
MDA paramedic Yissachar Weiss told Arutz Sheva: “When we arrived at the impact site, we saw extensive destruction on the street that was hit. Injured people began emerging from the rubble. There was a large fire, and many vehicles were in flames. We began gathering the wounded at triage points, and with a large number of ambulances and mobile intensive care units arriving at the scene, we started providing initial medical treatment on-site. MDA teams continued treating the injured until they were transported to hospitals.”
MDA EMT Yoel Rosenthal told Arutz Sheva: “We saw significant destruction on the street, and many injured people came out to us from the buildings and the rubble. Together with Home Front Command forces, we began rescuing trapped casualties. We used a megaphone to call on additional injured to come to the casualty assembly point, where we provided initial medical care. From there, those needing further treatment were evacuated to hospitals by MDA intensive care units and ambulances. At this stage, MDA teams are present at all locations where there is a likelihood of additional casualties and are ready to receive and treat more wounded.”
Two missiles also hit Tel Aviv, causing significant damage to a number of buildings, as well as some injuries, the Times of Israel reported. According to the report, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee confirmed in a post to X that the embassy branch in the coastal city was slightly damaged from an impact, but there were no injuries to staff. He said the American embassies and consulates remain closed, with a shelter-in-place order still in effect. Israel’s Channel 12 News reported that the home of MK Hanoch Milwidsky (Likud) in Petach Tikvah was damaged by an Iranian missile, JNS reported.
Visiting the site of the deadly Iranian missile strike in Petach Tikvah, President Isaac Herzog condemned the attack as “evil, pure evil in and of itself,” emphasizing that it was deliberately aimed at innocent civilians across Israel, JNS added. According to the report, he declared, “You think you’re going to tire us or fatigue us, you’re absolutely wrong. We’re a very strong, resilient nation with very strong capabilities in all fields.” JNS reported that Herzog addressed the mullahs regime directly, asserting that the Iranian people and the entire region “want change” and “deserve change.”
