Terror has once again struck the State of Israel. Police say that an Israeli Arab terrorist initially rammed his vehicle into several people waiting at a bus stop at Tishbi Junction, then exited his car and opened fire on the civilians, injuring several people, the Times of Israel reported.
Israel Police Commissioner Danny Levi said that the terrorist, an Arab Israeli, took the rifle from a soldier who was injured at the bus stop and fired towards a vehicle driving on the other side of the road, Arutz Sheva reported. According to the report, the driver himself was not injured by the shooting, but his father, who was traveling beside him, was murdered on the spot.
Moshe Horn, an 85-year-old member of Kibbutz Hazorea, was identified as the man murdered by a terrorist at the Tishbi junction, near Yoknean, I24 news reported. Horn was shot and killed inside his car in front of his son, who sustained light injuries in the incident, Yedioth Achronot reported.
A Magen David Adom (MDA) spokesperson said first responders are providing medical treatment to a man of about 20 who is in moderate condition and conscious, Arutz Sheva reported. According to the report, initial findings show that the terrorist was driving on the road near Hatishbi Junction when he saw a man of about 20 at the bus stop and hit him with his vehicle. Afterwards, the terrorist exited the vehicle and stabbed him with a knife. Arutz Sheva reported that the injuries from the stabbing were significant.
Senior Magen David Adom medic Moshiko Amsalem told Israel Hayom: “This was a serious event. We were dispatched to the scene of a terror attack at a bus stop at Tishbi Junction. When we arrived, we immediately saw two wounded individuals – a 75-year-old man in critical condition with penetrating injuries, and a 20-year-old man in moderate condition, also with penetrating injuries. We immediately began administering medical care, including stopping the bleeding and applying bandages.”
“We arrived at the scene and saw a man of about 70 years old and a young man of about 20 years old near a bus stop, suffering from gunshot wounds,” a Magen David Adom EMT told I24. “We carried out medical examinations on the septuagenarian. He had no pulse and was no longer breathing, and we unfortunately had to declare his death at the scene. Other MDA teams provided medical care to the young man of about 20 years old while he was conscious and urgently evacuated him to the hospital in an intensive care vehicle, in a severe and unstable condition.”
I24 identified the terrorist as Karem Jabarin from Ma’ale Iron. Border Police forces traveling on the road, en route to a training exercise, were quickly able to neutralize the terrorist before he could cause more casualties. I24 News reported. According to the report, Hamas subsequently praised the “heroic attack” at the Hatishbi crossroads, claiming it was a response to the Israeli escalation in Gaza and “occupied West Bank.” Hamas is calling for an increase in terrorist attacks in Israel and the West Bank.
