As Israel and Iran reached a cease-fire agreement, Iran killed four Israelis and injured 20 others when they fired a missile at a Beersheba apartment building.

Four Israelis were killed and 20 others were wounded when an Iranian missile struck a Beersheba apartment building, as bomb sirens blared throughout the Jewish state from around 5:00am till 8:00am on Tuesday morning, right as a cease-fire between Israel and Iran was set to take effect. According to the Jerusalem Post, two ballistic missiles were fired at Beersheba out of the around 20 missiles total fired at several regions across the Jewish state. The Jerusalem Post reported that one was intercepted, while the other one hit the apartment building in Beersheba.
Magen David Adom paramedic Dvir Ben Ze’ev, who was at the scene in southern Israel, described the devastation to Israel Hayom: “We responded with a large team that included intensive care units, ambulances, rapid response vehicles, and motorcycles. We saw massive destruction along the street where the missile hit. At the entrance to one building, an unconscious man was lying on the ground. After searching further, we found two more victims — a man and a woman — also unconscious. We performed medical examinations, but sadly there was nothing we could do except pronounce them dead.”
Corporal Eitan Zachs, 18, from Be’er Sheva, a soldier in combat training in the Multidimensional Unit (888), his mother, Michal Zachs, 50, his girlfriend Noa Boguslavsky, 18, from Arad, and Naomi Shaanan are the four Israelis killed Tuesday morning in Beersheba by a missile strike from Iran, Yedioth Achronot reported.
According to the Times of Israel, Boguslavsky and Michal and Eitan Zacks had entered their reinforced safe room upon hearing an initial siren, but left after they received an all-clear. According to the report, they did not have time to return to the safe room following a second siren that came immediately preceding the impact, according to Eliana Zacks, Michal’s daughter and Eitan’s sister. The Times of Israel reported that the father of the family was also home during the impact and was, for a time, trapped in rubble, but managed to extricate himself and survive.
The Times of Israel reported that a total of 28 people were killed in Iran’s ballistic missile attacks upon the Jewish state since June 13. Apart from Cpl. Zacks, all were civilians, the Times of Israel noted. JNS reported that the Israeli Health Ministry reported that 116 people arrived at hospitals with injuries from the Iranian missile attacks last Tuesday, including three in moderate condition, 107 with light injuries, five suffering from anxiety, and one patient still under evaluation. Missiles repeatedly targeted the country’s center, north and south, starting shortly after 5 a.m., setting off sirens and sending millions of Israelis to bomb shelters, the Times of Israel reported. Most of the 20 missiles were intercepted.
On Tuesday morning, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement that “In light of achieving the objectives of the campaign, and in complete coordination with President Trump, Israel agreed to the president’s proposal for a mutual ceasefire. Israel will forcefully respond to any violation of the ceasefire.”
Israel Hayom reported that within hours of a ceasefire taking effect, sirens echoed throughout northern Israel after Iran launched missiles toward Israeli territory. According to the report, Israeli air defenses intercepted two missiles, with no reported casualties aside from one civilian injured while seeking shelter. However, despite this rocket fire, the cease-fire took effect and Operation Rising Lion came to an end.
