In a courageous interview broadcast on Channel 12 on Saturday night, former hostage Guy Gilboa Dalal exposed the sexual abuse that he suffered while in Hamas captivity: “The terrorists guarding me were mentally unstable. They could be fine for a while and then suddenly become extremely cruel. One of them asked me: You want to film a porn movie? He started touching me, kissing my back, my neck and my throat. He told me he loved me. It was extremely uncomfortable. At some point his hand stopped on my chest. My heart was pounding. He asked: ‘Are you scared?'”

Dalal continued: “He took me aside and threatened that if I ever told anyone he would kill me. In another incident he took me, pulled down his pants. I told him: ‘This is forbidden in Islam.’ He rubbed his genitals against my rectum for several minutes.”

Israel Hayom reported that Gilboa Dalal returned from Hamas captivity after 738 days. According to the report, he was abducted from the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023. Recalling the abduction during the massacre, he told Israel Hayom: “Bullets were whistling past me, hitting the ground. I don’t know how nothing struck me. I started running to the bushes with Evyatar. All I could think was: F***, I’m going to die now.”

According to Dalal, “Suddenly a terrorist pointed a rifle at my head. One of them dragged me to a vehicle and forced me onto my knees. I was sure they were going to execute me. I said to myself: At least the death will be quick. Then they threw Elkanah Buchbut and Bar Kuperstein inside, and then I saw Evyatar. They drove us around the city of Gaza, shouting: ‘Jewish pigs.’ We were forbidden to talk to each other or even look at one another. The beginning was horrific. I cried all day. I was sure there were at most 10 hostages.”

Earlier this month, hostage survivor Rom Braslavski also revealed that he was sexually assaulted during the 738 days he was held in Gaza, Yedioth Achronot reported. According to Braslavski, “No one went through what I went through. They stripped me of all my clothes — underwear, everything. They tied me up from my… while I was completely naked. I was torn apart, dying, with no food.”

Braslavski told Yedioth Achronot: “It was sexual violence — and its main purpose was to humiliate me. The goal was to crush my dignity. And that’s exactly what he did.” Yedioth Achronot asked whether there had been other incidents besides the one he described, and Braslavski replied: “Yes. It’s hard for me to talk about that part specifically. I don’t like to talk about it. It’s hard, It was the most horrific thing. It’s something even the Nazis didn’t do. During Hitler’s time, they wouldn’t have done things like this. You just pray for it to stop. And while I was there — every day, every beating — I’d say to myself, ‘I survived another day in hell. Tomorrow morning, I’ll wake up to another hell. And another. And another. It doesn’t end.”

Several released female hostages have also recounted sexual violence and threats while held in Gaza, the Times of Israel reported. According to the Dinah Project, who interviewed 15 hostages that returned from captivity, “returnees reported forced nudity, physical and verbal sexual harassment, sexual assaults, and threats of forced marriage.” Amit Soussana and Ilana Gritzewsky in particular have publicly spoken out about how they were sexually assaulted in Hamas captivity.

Recently, former hostages Aviva and Keith Siegel testified before the United Nations about the horrors they experienced in captivity. According to Yedioth Achronot, Aviva recounted one case of a young girl forced to shower with a terrorist and then perform oral sex on him. Additionally, she described a 16-year-old girl who was forced to shower in front of a terrorist.
