At 1:00am on Monday morning, the bomb sirens sounded in Airport City, Bat Yam, Bnei Brak, Givatayim, Gush Etzion Junction, Hevron, Kfar Chabad, Kfar Etzion, Kiryat Arba, Mini Israel, Modiin, Petach Tikva, Ramat Gan, Ramla, Rishon LeTzion, Tel Aviv and other areas across Central Israel and the Judean Hills. Arutz Sheva reported that the IDF detected that the Houthis had launched a missile towards Israeli territory.

According to Arutz Sheva, the IDF later updated that the missile had been intercepted. According to the report, Magen David Adom declared that they received zero calls following the missile launch. According to the Times of Israel, there were no reports of impacts or injuries.

The Times of Israel reported that the Houthis took responsibility for the attack, claiming to have targeted “several sensitive targets” in the Tel Aviv area using a ballistic missile with a cluster bomb warhead.

The Times of Israel reported that the Houthis have fired several missiles with cluster bomb warheads at Israel in recent weeks. According to the report, the sub-munitions deployed by such missiles do not have their own propulsion or guidance and simply fall to the ground, where they are designed to explode on impact.

The Times of Israel reported that the terror group also claimed to have launched two drones at Israel, targeting “two vital targets” in the Eilat area. According to the report, there were no reports of Houthi drones reaching Israel in the past day, indicating that they likely fell short before reaching the country.

According to multiple reports in the media, a Houthi missile hit a ship in the Gulf of Aden the very same day. The UKMTO says “a vessel has been hit by an unknown projectile.” It adds: “The vessel is reported to be on fire.” According to Euro News, the attack hit the Netherlands-flagged cargo ship Minervagracht, which had been targeted in a failed assault last week as well by the Iranian-backed Houthis, according to the French military’s Maritime Information, Cooperation and Awareness Centre.

The Times of Israel reported that the Houthis, an Iran-backed terror group, have repeatedly attacked Israel with ballistic missiles and drones, saying they are doing so in support of Gaza amid Israel’s war there against Hamas. The Houthis — whose slogan calls for “Death to America, Death to Israel, [and] a Curse on the Jews” — began attacking Israel and maritime traffic in the Red Sea in November 2023, a month after the October 7 Hamas massacre, the Times of Israel reported.

Since then, the Iran-backed terror group has fired some 130 missiles and more than 150 explosive-laden drones at Israel, causing death, injury, damage, and regularly sending hundreds of thousands of Israelis scrambling to shelters at all hours of the day or night, the Times of Israel added.
