Four people were killed in the northern Israeli Arab town of Tamra Saturday night after Iran launched dozens of missiles towards Israeli territory, Arutz Sheva reported. According to the Times of Israel, one missile struck a two-story home in Tamra, killing four women and injuring some 10 people. According to the report, the women were named as Manar Khatib and her two daughters, Hala, 20, and Shada, 13, as well as another relative, also named Manar Khatib.
The barrage was Iran’s first since the early morning hours, the Times of Israel reported. According to the report, the salvo sent most of the country into shelters, with Home Front Command pushing phone alerts shortly after 11 p.m. According to Arutz Sheva, residents reported hearing powerful explosions as the barrage hit. At least 28 were wounded following an Iranian missile barrage on northern Israel on Saturday night, Magen David Adom said, the Jerusalem Post reported. And in a separate missile attack Sunday morning at around 3:00am, another person was killed and 90 were wounded. The Sabrine news agency reported that the Iranian barrage on northern Israel included 100 missiles.
“I saw a scene of destruction in a three-story building. Nearby houses were damaged, and there was chaos in the street,” MDA Paramedic Adnan Abu Rum told the Jerusalem Post. “We approached a house that had suffered significant destruction, and residents helped us rescue a woman in her 20s who was unconscious and showed no signs of life. Shortly afterward, we were forced to pronounce her dead. Residents were also rescued from nearby buildings—some had minor injuries, and others were suffering from anxiety. We provided them with medical treatment and evacuated them by ambulance to hospitals in Haifa.”
Three people were rescued by Israel Fire and Rescue teams from a building that suffered a direct impact, the Jerusalem Post reported. According to the report, Haifa police officers reported that fallen shrapnel caused localized fires on a road and another building. The Jerusalem Post reported that the police noted that the fires are under control, and there are no casualties.
Iran launched four waves of rocket barrages at Israel Friday night and early Saturday morning, killing three and injuring 200. The three fatalities in Ramat Gan and Rishon LeZion were named Saturday as Etti Cohen Engel, Yisrael Aloni and Yevgenia Blinder, the Times of Israel reported. Together with the fatalities in Northern Israel tonight, ten Israeli citizens have now been killed and over 200 have been wounded due to the barrage of Iranian missile fire. Hundreds of other Israelis have been displaced, after Iranian missiles destroyed their homes.
The war with Iran began when Israel launched a major offensive against Iran and its nuclear program, hitting nuclear sites, missile bases and top military officials, starting 3am Friday morning. The Times of Israel reported that Israel said it had no choice but to attack Iran, adding that it had gathered intelligence that Tehran was approaching “the point of no return” in its pursuit of a nuclear weapon. According to the report, the Israeli operation was expected to last several days at least, according to military officials, who added that the IDF was preparing for heavy fire from Iran, but asserted that “at the end of the operation, there will be no nuclear threat” from the Islamic Republic.
