An Israeli civilian was wounded Wednesday evening in a terrorist shooting attack near Ariel, the Jewish Press reported. According to the report, the attack took place on the road connecting Ariel, the Ten gas station and a new farm, located next to the industrial zone on the western side of the city, according to Hatzalah Without Borders.
The Jewish Press reported that the 18-year-old victim said he was blinded by a laser before being shot by the attacker. According to the report, he managed to reach the city’s industrial zone after the attack, where he was met by security personnel and emergency medical responders, who said he remained conscious, with moderate gunshot wounds. A Magen David Adom (MDA) ambulance team took him to Beilinson Medical Center in nearby Petach Tikvah, the Jewish Press added.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit told Arutz Sheva: “Following the initial report regarding a shooting attack near Ari’el, an Israeli civilian, moderately injured by gunfire, arrived at the Ariel Industrial Park and is currently receiving medical treatment.”
“We treated an 18-year-old young man, fully conscious that was suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand,” MDA paramedic Gennadi Dubinsky told the Jerusalem Post. “We were told that he was injured while driving the vehicle near a farm. We provided him with medical treatment and evacuated him to a hospital, where he is in moderate and stable condition while continuing treatment.”
“This is the third attack in the same area, yet we are not receiving clear and sufficient answers from the IDF and security establishment,” Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan told the Jerusalem Post in regards to the terror attack.
According to Dagan, the ongoing wave of attacks indicates a broader, more coordinated effort against Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, requiring a shift in Israel’s strategic response. “This latest attack is yet another painful reminder of what we have been saying all along—Judea and Samaria must be treated as a full-fledged front, just like Gaza and Lebanon. The terrorism here is not a collection of isolated incidents but an organized and ongoing assault against the settlements and the Jewish people as a whole,” he told the Jerusalem Post.
Earlier in the week, Arutz Sheva reported that a baby was injured in a rock-throwing attack on an Israeli vehicle in the Huwara area. According to the report, the child was reportedly lightly injured in the attack. Arutz Sheva added that the vehicle continued on to the entrance to the Samaria Border Police Station, where the baby received medical treatment.
The mayor of Ariel, Yair Chetboun, told the Jerusalem Post following the terror attack: “A full routine is taking place in the city of Ariel, the enemy will not be allowed to destroy the holiday atmosphere, Purim celebrations will take place as usual in the city. We will not allow vile terrorists to harm the routine of life. We will continue to stand by the IDF and the security forces, ensure security and maintain the routine of life in the city and its surroundings.”
