REVOCATION OF ISRAELI PERMANENT RESIDENCY PERMIT FOR ADEL ABU ZNEID, THE PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY SECRETARY-GENERAL FOR JERUSALEM

DEFEND JERUSALEM has asked that Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked use the powers of her good office to revoke the permanent residency permit of Adel Abu Zneid who is the deputy secretary-general in Jerusalem for Fatah, a group that the State of Israel has designated as a known terrorist organization. Adel Abu Zneid’s residency permit allows him to live in Jerusalem—inside the State of Israel.

Adel Abu Zneid is a hardcore terrorist operative who has a lengthy career as an operative inside an organization that has killed Jews, Israelis, and citizens from numerous countries. Fatah is responsible for some of the most heinous terrorist attacks in history. Fatah played an instrumental role in the incitement of violence against Jews and Israelis and Abu Zneid leads that effort in the terror group’s operations in Jerusalem. He is an integral cog in the efforts by the Palestinian Authority and Fatah to incite civil unrest and violence inside Jerusalem and undermine law and order inside the Israeli capital.

Adel Abu Zneid’s activities inside Israel—and specifically in Jerusalem—are a critical threat to the country. He has a rap sheet of numerous offenses that violate Israeli law and the tenets of the 1994 Oslo Accord and subsequent diplomatic agreements that Israel and the Palestinian Authority have signed. It is, therefore, an Israeli national security imperative that Adel Abu Zneid’s residency permit be revoked and that he be expelled from the State of Israel.
