A 28-year-old man was seriously injured after a 19-year-old Palestinian terrorist from Tulkarem stabbed him in Tel Aviv over Shabbat, Haaretz reported. The terrorist was eliminated on site by an armed civilian and was identified as Salah Yahya, a Palestinian who illegally entered into Israel.
The police have said Yahya was armed with a knife when he arrived in a bustling area in central Tel Aviv in order to implement the terror attack. I24 News reported that a jihadist Telegram channel based in Tulkarem published a 2020 photo shortly after the attack, which ended with Yahya shot dead by an armed Israeli civilian.
The critically injured man was taken by ambulance to Ichilov Hospital, where he is presently undergoing treatment for stab wounds. The Jerusalem Post reported that he is in stable condition, after doctors operated on him. A friend of the victim who was present during the attack told Maariv: “My friend was stabbed right in front of me. We were sitting in a café, and the incident happened at the end of the street.” Several others were reported injured in the terror attack as well.
On the very same day that the Tel Aviv terror attack took place, the Houthis fired a missile at Israel, causing the sirens to go off in Central Israel and Jerusalem on Shabbat morning. The IDF reported that the threat was successfully intercepted, the Jerusalem Post reported. However, Ben-Gurion Airport was temporarily forced to suspend flights due to the incoming missile, thus forcing a Royal Jordanian flight from Chicago to Amman to be redirected so that they would not fly over Israeli airspace.
The Houthi missile, together with the Tel Aviv terror attack, took place the day before the hostage deal/ceasefire is set to be implemented. It appears that the new deal will not bring the terror to an end. MEMRI reported that Hamas Political Bureau member Khalil Al-Hayya stated going into the deal: “The security and military miracle and accomplishment of October 7, carried out by the elite forces of the Al-Qassam [Brigades], will remain a source of pride for our people and our resistance, and it will be passed down from generation to generation. The enemy entity was dealt a deadly blow. Our people will regain all their rights, Allah willing, and this occupation will be expelled from our land, our Jerusalem, and our holy places, and it will happen soon, Allah willing.”
He then went on to threaten Israel alongside those who supported Israel in the media and the political arena, as well as those who supplied Israel with weapons: “We say that all those criminals will be punished for their deeds, even if it takes time. We will never forget and never forgive! Yes, we will never forget and never forgive!”
Al Hayya concluded: “This war started for the sake of Jerusalem. Our guiding compass will continue to point to Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. They will continue to be the goal of our Jihad and our resistance, until the liberation and the establishment of the independent state, with Jerusalem as its capital, Allah willing.”
Hamas confirmed that on the first day of the deal, 28-year-old Emily Damari, 23-year-old Romi Gonen and 31-year-old Doron Steichbrecher will be released. The deal is set to see 33 hostages feed in the first phase in exchange for 735 terrorists. The hostages will be returning home after spending 471 days in captivity, Israel Hayom reported.
According to the report, an additional group of four living female hostages is scheduled for release in seven days. The Prime Minister’s Office hostage bureau stated that families will receive 24-hour advance notification of the names. Out of the 33 hostages set to be released in the first phase, at least 24 are confirmed to be alive, while the status of the others remains undetermined, Israel Hayom concluded.
